Wyong Creek Public School represented the Hunter / Central Coast Region at the Showcase09 videoconference which linked ten schools from each region. Opened by the Minister for Education and Training, Verity Firth, the Showcase celebrated the Education Week focus on the environment.

Teacher, Christine Freeman is joined by Wyong Creek Public School students singing her climate change song, Strange Things. The Hunter / Central Coast videoconference was held at Rumbalara Environmental Education Centre, Gosford and concluded with entertainment, displays and tours for local guests.

Wyong Creek Public School have won local Wyong Council Environmental Awards, Keep Australia Beautiful Metropolitan Schools Award, State Landcare Award and the National People's Choice Landcare Award.

Director-General for a Day and associated programs
Hayley, Year 11, Scone High School, visited Janet Stewart and the Corporate Marketing Team, Sydney, in her role as Director, Corporate Marketing for a Day. Joshua, Year 11, Rutherford Technology High School also travelled to Sydney as Manager, Human Resources for a Day with Trish Kelly.

Principal for a Day
Paul Tracey hosted Brad Joyce as his Principal for a Day at Callaghan College Wallsend Campus. Brad is Chief Executive Officer of Teachers Federation Health LTD.

Maitland Area Education Week Awards Ceremony held Tuesday 26 May 2009 at Francis Greenway High School. One of the "Excellence in Student Achievement" awards was received by Emma, School Captain of Woodberry Public School who received her award from the Hunter/Central Coast Regional Director, Ms Robyn McKerihan.

Singleton Education Precinct Community Breakfast was held at Singleton High School on Tuesday 26 May 2009.  Singleton High School VET students prepared breakfast for the guests.
