Education Week in Sydney Region
Education Week Showcase09 Sylvania High School represented the Sydney Region at the Showcase09 videoconference, which linked ten schools from each region. Opened by the Minister for Education and Training, Verity Firth, the Showcase celebrated the Education Week focus on the environment.
Director-General for a Day and associated programs Vanessa, Year 11, Sylvania High School, Sydney Region met up with Mark Davis and experienced being the Director, Media for a Day.
Principal for a Day Elizabeth Ann Macgregor, Director, Museum of Contemporary Art, was Principal for a Day at Matraville Soldiers Settlement Public School and helped plant the sea of hands for Reconciliation.
Bondi Public School Education Week at Bondi Public School on Wednesday 27 May included showcasing their Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden site, a tour of classrooms and class and individual students' achievements. The Director-General joined in classroom activities.
Burwood Girls High School The Director-General experienced science, drama and history programs at Burwood Girls High School during Education Week.
Drama classes involve team work and physical challenges.
