Wow, what a successful event the F1 Technology Challenge Exhibition and Car Race turned out to be on Thursday, 11 August 2011. Who would have guessed the Bridge Street Atrium would become the next big location for Formula 1 and that the department would become the Le Mans of the racing set. That's how it was when Reengineering Australia set up a race track for the teams of 'Speedalicious' from Gymea Technology High School and 'The Pocket Rockets' from Lucas Heights Community School to demonstrate their racing prowess and talk about their projects.

The F1 Challenge is a worldwide engineering and design action-learning project for students. Teams of students from years 5-12 use industry level, 3-dimensional CAD/CAM and simulation technologies to design, analyse, test, manufacture and race miniature CO2 powered, balsa wood Formula 1 cars. Congratulations to all involved.
