  • ARTEXPRESS - showcasing the diversity and talents of Year 12 visual arts students.
  • Operation Art - provides opportunities for students to demonstrate their achievements in visual arts through a major exhibition which receives widespread publicity and recognition.  The works submitted are designed to contribute to a visual environment that helps relieve anxiety for children during hospitalisation.

  • Talent Development Project Concert and master.class - special guests include Wes Carr, Jessica Mauboy and Jonathon Welch AM plus TDP graduates accompanied by the NSW Public Schools Jazz Band and the NSW Public Schools Senior Singers.
  • Schools Spectacular - A variety entertainment showcase featuring over 2,500 gifted and talented performers from over 2,200 NSW government schools.
  • Star Struck - Star Struck is an annually produced variety and entertainment show that showcases performing arts programs taught in government schools in the Hunter District.
  • State Dance Festival - A showcase of dance from Kindergarten to Year 12 from government schools across New South Wales.

  • NAIDOC Week 2009: 5–12 July
    NSW Public Schools and TAFE NSW Institutes are celebrating NAIDOC Week. Students from Matraville Sports High School interviewed the Director-General, Department of Education and Training to ask him how the Department celebrates this important week.
  • Education Week 2009: 24 May–31 May
    Education Week is held each year in public schools across the state where you can join in a wide range of local and regional activities and events showcasing the quality and diversity of education across NSW.
  • International Women's Day 2009
    Schools have been encouraged to participate in the celebrations for International Women’s Day throughout March by raising awareness amongst their school communities.
  • ANZAC Day Events 2010
    RSL & Schools Remember ANZAC Commemoration Service to be held on Thursday 22 April 2010 (TBC) and ANZAC Day Remembrance Service to be held on Sunday, 25 April 2010.
  • Back to School
    A national program run in conjunction with the Education Foundation which aims to build and strengthen the relationship between public schools and their former students and to celebrate public education. The program can be held at any time of year to suit the school and former students with many schools holding their Back to School in Education Week. To join in the back to school program check out the website www.backtoschool.org.au where you can find a free Back to School Pack for schools and information for past students.

Sydney Region Arts aims to support music, drama, dance, visual arts, film, productions in schools.
