Former Kempsey High student Amy Winters is an extremely talented runner who since the age of 16 has represented Australia at the International Paralympic Committee World Athletics Championships, Paralympics and Paralympic Revival.
Amy's specialty events are the 100m and 200m. In 1999 she held the World Record for the 100m, in 1996 the World Record for the 200m and in 1994 she held the Australian Record in the 200m and Long Jump. This is an outstanding achievement for someone who is only 23 years of age.
Amy lives by the motto: 'There are no short cuts to any place worth going'.
