School sport foundation grants for 2012
2012 School Sport Foundation grants are available for schools to apply from 7 May 2012. All NSW public schools are invited to apply for grants of between $500 and $2,500 to support the engagement of youth in school based sport, healthy lifestyle and physical activity programs. Applications will close at 5pm on Monday 4 June 2012.
Preference will be given to programs that:
- promote physical activity, fitness and/or health for students at risk of becoming disengaged from school
- support student engagement in school programs, and a clearly identified need
- provide benefits that are innovative and supplementary to normal curriculum requirements
- provide ongoing benefits to the school and at risk students
- demonstrate commitment of school resources and have the support of the school community
- are supported by an appropriate evaluation and reporting process would not normally be covered by global funding.
Categories include:
- Engaged Youth Program - targeting Years 9 -11
- Promoting the Consumption of Fresh Fruit and Vegetables
Schools may only submit one application per year. Any application that is not authorised by the Principal and/or is not returned by the closing date will be ineligible for consideration.
2012 School Sport Foundation Grants applications will close at 5pm on Monday 4 June 2012.
All applications will be assessed by a panel comprising of representatives from the NSW Teachers' Federation, Federation of Parents' and Citizens' Associations of NSW, the School Sport Unit and the Student Engagement and Program Evaluation Bureau.
All schools funded will be requested to provide a program report and reconciliation of expenditure. Any unexpended funds will be requested to be returned.
