Vocational Education and Training (VET) is one of the fastest growing sectors in the Australian economy. In the ongoing challenge to keep Australia internationally competitive, the quality and effectiveness of the VET sector is critical.

The NSW Training Awards celebrate and promote VET excellence in a series of Awards events conducted across eleven state regions. Those successful at the regional level compete at the state level. Winners are announced at a high-profile Awards Presentation Dinner held each year in late August at The Ballroom, Darling Harbour.

VET reaches into every industry sector and is no longer the sole responsibility of TAFE and private training organisations. Hence the expansion of the Training Awards to include both Student and Non-Student categories – just as apprentices, trainees and other students can apply for an award, so too are there categories for small business, employers and workplace training innovation.

The Training Awards is an ideal sponsorship vehicle because of its reach into business, industry and government across the state. As well, sponsors can tailor their involvement by being associated with a particular award – there are twelve different categories!
