FontsTry to resist the temptation to use an unusual, fantastic font, as the font on any web pages. Unless readers have that font installed on their computers they will not see the web page as it was intended. Instead, they will see the default font such as Times New Roman or something similar. If you absolutely must use that fantastic font, turn it into a graphic. Open up a graphic application, type in the text, save it as a graphic file such as a JPG or GIF, and then use it as a heading at the top of the page. Remember that Macintosh and Windows-based computers have only a few common fonts. To make sure that the text on your web page looks the way you want it, restrict your fonts to Times New Roman, Arial/Helvetica or a Comic Sans font. Avoid the use of underlined text as, on web sites, this usually indicates a link to another page, graphic or file. Also resist the temptation to use a variety of fonts throughout the text. For emphasis use bold or italics. |
