Hints and tips

A well designed web site allows visitors to easily access the information that is provided.

There are some excellent sites on the Internet that can assist with the general design of a web site. A selection of sites on design issues have been included below:
The Alertbox: Current Issues in Web Usability

Don't forget that a web site must be easy to read and able to be downloaded at a reasonable speed.

Different operating systems have different colour palettes and different browsers will render pages differently, so check the site on both Apple Macintosh and Windows-based computers.

The following tips and suggestions have been provided to assist with the creation of a web site:

the use of graphics

In light of the large number of entries, it is essential that teams register and upload their web site well before the closing dates. This will ensure you have adequate time to test and check your web site. Do not leave uploading of your web site to the last minute.

Remember, the judges will be considering how well the design fulfills the purpose you've identified within the judging criteria.
