School time is generally from 9.00am to 3.00pm Monday to Friday but varies from school to school. The school day may be extended in some high schools, either by starting earlier or finishing later. Each school determines its hours to suit local needs and meet the required teaching and learning times.

In general, students are not permitted to be on the school premises until half an hour before the start of school and must leave at the conclusion of their lessons in the afternoon, unless they are participating in a teacher-supervised extra curricula activity.
