Free bus, train and ferry passes

Students who meet the eligibility criteria, have subsidised travel on Government rail, Government and private bus, ferry and long distance coach services.

If students live more than 1.6 kilometres from their school they are able to apply for a free travel pass.

Students need to keep their travel pass in a safe place as they'll need it for the full school year. The pass must be displayed when boarding trains, buses and ferries or free travel may be refused.

Private Vehicle Conveyance Subsidy

This subsidy is especially valuable for those in isolated or country areas. It is generally available for students who live in an area where there is no bus, rail or ferry service, and which is 1.6 kilometres' walking distance from the nearest transport pick up point. Parents are reimbursed for the costs of driving children to a pick-up point.
