National Partnership Agreements (NPA)

EMSAD is supporting the work of school in implementing the National Partnerships in NSW in a number of ways:

  • Provision, processing and analysis of NPA assessments and NAPLAN
  • Guidelines and extensive support materials for schools conducting self-evaluations
  • SMART analysis training
  • Integrating the school self-evaluations process within reporting in the Annual School Report
  • Support in modifying the school plan for improvement and setting targets
  • Development of the Data Analysis Skills Assessment (DASA)

Priority 3 Monitoring school and student performance to identify when support is needed

  • Participating schools conduct an annual independent analysis of student performance using National Assessment Program - Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) data
  • Analysis of student performance data will include locally developed assessment schedules and tools
  • The self‐evaluation component involves participation in a supported self‐evaluation Review process
  • Schools will undertake a situational analysis in literacy and/or numeracy, as appropriate, and subsequently in structured monitoring reviews and a final peer reviewed self‐evaluation
  • These processes are intended to build schools' capacity to monitor school and student performance and to identify where focussed support is needed
  • Having undertaken a supported self‐evaluation schools will be required to develop or amend a School Improvement Plan aimed at achieving improvements in the focus area, either reading or numeracy.
