Homework

The NSW Department of Education and Communities requires schools to develop a Homework Policy in consultation with staff, students and parents/caregivers in the school's community.

The Homework Policy: Guidelines (PDF 353kB) contains information for schools that would like to review, update or newly develop a Homework Policy.

The latest research about homework underpins the implementation support materials. The Homework Policy: Research Scan (PDF 407kB) summarises research on homework, considers strategies to maximise the benefits and examines in detail whether time spent on homework results in improved student achievement.
