Reserve Lists: General Information

Parents whose children are on reserve lists will be offered a place for their children if their position on the reserve list is reached. Reserve lists remain active for placement throughout Years 5 and 6 provided that students have not already enrolled in another opportunity class.

If your application has two choices, you may be offered a place at your second choice and be placed on the reserve list for your first choice.

Students who have been offered a place and are also on a reserve list for their first choice will be sent a further offer if their reserve list position is reached. Such offers will be made whether or not their previous offer has been accepted or declined until 27 January 2010.

Reserve list progress

Where a student has been placed on a reserve list the outcome advice shows a number next to 'Reserve'. This number indicates the position on the reserve list.  A student will receive an offer if his or her position on the reserve list is reached.

The movement through the reserve list, and the length of each reserve list, varies from year to year and from school to school. Progress through the reserve list is determined by students accepting offers; declining offers or receiving offers to a higher choice school.

Note:

Students on the reserve list will not necessarily be offered a place.
You will be contacted by the Selective High School and Opportunity Class Placement Unit if the student's position on the reserve list is reached.
Appeals or approved changes of choice may result in students being added to the reserve list. Later in the placement process there may be more than one student on a particular number on the reserve list.

This list indicates the reserve list number of the latest student who received an offer of a place in an opportunity class.

For example:

Artarmon Public School 15

means that the latest offer of a place at Artarmon Public School was made to the student on position 15 on the reserve list.

Your child's reserve list number does not change. You can track how much closer the Unit is to offering your child a place by checking to see how far down the reserve list the offers have progressed.

OC Reserve list update 2009 for 2010
