Dance
Dance for Years 7 to 10 is an elective course based on the study of dance as an artform. Its framework ensures an all-round dance education in Performance, Composition and Appreciation.
The aim of the Dance syllabus is to develop in the students the ability to:
- express themselves through dance
- compose, perform and choreograph in dance
- develop skills and techniques of dance with an understanding of anatomy, physiology and kinesiology
- appreciate dance as a performing art
- understand and accept a variety of dance styles
- obtain knowledge of dance in an historical context
- promote an understanding of themselves and others by providing opportunities for them to work in cooperative circumstances.
