School Resources - Year 7 to 12 (Secondary School)

This kit supports cannabis education in Years 7-10. The teacher's manual provides background information about cannabis as well as teaching strategies. The resource includes a board game.

The resource supports students to explore and further develop their understandings of, and skills in managing issues concerning legal and illegal drugs.

The resource was developed to support the course, Crossroads: A Personal Development and Health Education Course for Stage 6. Crossroads is taught in Years 11 and/or 12 in NSW government schools.

The resource consists of two components: the video, Crossroads: the Park and The Party, produced by Life Education Australia, and a booklet to support the video, produced by the NSW Department of Education and Training.

This pamphlet provides information about drink spiking, safe partying tips, where to get help and more information.

Next is a magazine for Year 12 students that promotes the safe celebration of end of year activities and includes information on health and practical issues they may encounter as they make the transition to the next phase of their life.

This resource explores the effects of smoking, decision making, rules and consequences. Activities have been tailored to meet the needs of Aboriginal students but are appropriate for all students.

This resource has been designed to enable schools to implement peer-led alcohol education activities for Years 7 or 8 students, using peers in Years 10 or 11 to conduct the activities. It was developed by the NSW Department of Education and Training and the Peer Support Foundation.

This resource, for students in Years 11 and 12, supports the course, Crossroads: A Personal Development and Health Education Course for Stage 6. Activities focus on celebrations that might include alcohol. It includes issues about drink driving, laws on the supply of alcohol, risk taking behaviour and hosting safer parties.

This resource aims to provide young people with information about the effects of smoking and the skills to advocate against it. Particular attention is given to product placement in movies and television as well as the packaging of cigarettes that are used to recruit young people, especially females. The resource includes activities for Years 5-8.
