Environmental Education

Environmental education increases a student's knowledge and awareness of the environment. Students develop an understanding of environmentalissues in order to make informed decisions and take responsible actions.

Environmental Education Centres (EECs)

The NSW Department of Education and Training has twenty-two Environmental Education Centres (formerly known as field studies centres) spread throughout the state.
In addition, there are two Zoo Education Centres, Taronga Zoo located at Mosman and Western Plains Zoo located at Dubbo.
Each centre covers a wide range of environments, from urban to wilderness, from coastal to inland and from rainforests to rangelands.

The Environmental Education Centres are situated at a variety of locations across the state.
