Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses are available to students in Years 11 and 12. These courses are designed for all students and are taught by teachers at school or at TAFE .
VET courses allow students to get work related skills in a variety of industry areas. On successful completion of their course students receive a nationally recognised qualification.
Students can include one VET course in their Universities Admission Index (UAI).
School based part-time traineeships are also available to students in Year 11 and 12.
A traineeship is a work based training program that combines work with structured training. Students are paid a training wage for both the work and the training undertaken with a school, college or training provider.
A part-time traineeship can be completed while doing the HSC.
