End of Year Celebration Kit 2005

The End of Year Celebration Kit has been developed by the Department of Education and Training to increase young people's knowledge and awareness of the issues relating to end of year activities.

The Kit is distributed to all NSW government secondary schools during Term 3.

Suggested classroom activities for students are included in the staff folder.

Feedback on the Kit is welcomed. Students can use the reply paid card in the bag or Online Student Feedback. Staff should use the feedback sheet in the staff folder or Online Staff Evaluation.

The pamphlet, Alcohol: celebrations and supply, information for parents, offers practical suggestions for hosting celebrations. It also provides information on laws about the supply of alcohol to young people, drinking and driving and proof of age. Translations of the pamphlet are available.

The Queensland Government, in partnership with the Gold Coast City Council and community organisations are working together to help make this year's celebrations as safe as possible. The Schoolies Week website is provided for young people planning end of year celebrations at the Gold Coast. The site includes information about accommodation, organised activities and celebrating safely. Tips for parents who have teenagers attending Schoolies Week are also provided.
