The countdown is on for 348,000 NSW students who will sit the new national assessment tests in literacy and numeracy from May 13 to 16. The education department is well on track with the logistics of holding the tests – for example, the printing of test papers, the provision of braille versions of the tests, and ordering of calculators.
Two newsletters for parents are on the department’s website. A further newsletter will be issued before the end of the term.
Letters will be available for schools to send to parents giving them information on the tests, and explaining how to meet any need for exemptions or special provisions for students with a disability or learning difficulties.
More information can be found on the NSW Public Schools website.
