  • Thirty third Governor of New South Wales.

  • Born in Australia in 1922.

  • Joined Royal Australian Air Force in 1942.

  • Awarded immediate D.F.C. after a raid on the Ruhr, December, 1944.

  • Demobilized September 1945 and returned to University.

  • Rejoined R.A.A.F. on graduation in 1948.

  • Trained as experimental test pilot in England in 1949 - and remained in the field of test piloting until 1960.

  • Senior Engineer to Chief of Air Staff 1961 - 1979.

  • Involved in the activities of Royal Aeronautical Society, Institution of Engineers, Chartered Engineers and Guild of Air Pilots and Air Navigators.
