Dear Friends of Indonesia, 

The Tsunami death toll in the Indonesian Provinces of Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam and North Sumatra has reached 45,000, and is feared that this number will increase considerably. In order to assist survivors from dire conditions in the aftermath of the disaster, the Indonesian Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia and Indonesian Community in Sydney has formed The Indonesia Tsunami Appeal Committee. The Committee, consisting of students, teachers associations, business people, religious leaders and all components of the Indonesian community, has a three-month mandate to raise funds for the victims. 

Donations are urgently needed, and can be sent to the ITA Committee’s direct account: Consulate General of The Republic of Indonesia in Sydney, in trust for The Indonesia Tsunami Appeal, Commonwealth Bank A/C. 06-2198 10420345. Receipts for all donations received will be sent within 2 weeks. 

Other urgently needed donations: instant food, baby food and milk, body bags, bottled water, medicine, cotton, generators, blankets, tents, mosquito nets, water buckets, clothes, mattresses.*

Sebagaimana diketahui, jumlah korban Tsunami di Aceh dan Sumatra telah mencapai sekitar 45 ribu jiwa, dan diperkirakan masih akan bertambah. Guna membantu meringankan situasi yang memilukan itu, Konsul Jenderal RI dan Masyarakat Indonesia di sydney telah membentuk sebuah Komite The Indonesia Tsunami Appeal. Komite yang terdiri dari pelajar, pengusaha, asosasi guru, para pemuka agama dibantu oleh seluruh jajaran komponen masyarakat Indonesia di Sydney, akan bekerja selama tiga bulan. 

Selain mengumpulkan dana dari teman dan simpatisan, Komite juga akan mengadakan sejumlah pagelaran kesenian dengan menjual tiket dan lelang barang guna meraih dana lebih besar lagi. Bagi mereka yang ingin membantu menyalurkan dana bantuannya, dihimbau mengirimkan bantuannya langsung ke nomor rekening The Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in trust for The Indonesia Tsunami Appeal, Commonwealth Bank A/C 06-2198 10420345.
