Teman-teman yang baik See below for information about a teaching vacancy in Lombok. Leonie Leonie Wittman R/Senior Curriculum Adviser Languages Unit Curriculum K-12 Directorate NSW Department of Education & Training 3a Smalls Rd Ryde NSW 2112 Tel: 61 2 9886 7681 Fax: 61 2 9886 7160 Email: leonie.wittman at det.nsw.edu.au ________________________________ From: Nusa Alam [mailto:nusaalam at yahoo.com] Sent: Wednesday, 20 April 2005 2:52 PM To: Asia EdNet Subject: [asia-ednet] Urgent: - vacancy in Lombok --------------------------------- Asia EdNet Discussion Group --------------------------------- Sekolah Nusa Alam, set in the rice fields near the beach on the small island of Lombok, Indonesia, is a 'National Plus' school with claases from Preschool to Junior High. Of our students, roughly 80 in number, less than 10% are the children of expats, around 25% Indonesian and the remainder with one Indonesian and one non-Indonesian parent. One of our teachers is having to leave us at short notice for family reasons and her position will be vacant from July 2005. The vacancy is for a team teacher in the Year 3, 4 and 5 unit, with approximately 25 students in the unit aged 8-11. Our preference is for a teacher with class teaching experience at this level and one who has some knowledge of Indonesian. Experience of multi-age and team teaching would also be an advantage. We are in the process of reorganising the school and, effective from July, will be following a system of team teaching with an Indonesian and an English native speaking teacher in each 2- or 3-year unit. Our curriculum is an amalgam of those from UK, Australia and Indonesia. Indonesia has just introduced a competency based curriculum, bringing it into line with general practice in other countries. Children will be taught in both languages by the relevant native speaker. Teachers are employed on a contract basis, with salary dependent on qualifications and experience. Working permits and visas are provided by the school and allowances are paid for housing and home leave travel. We offer discounted places for teachers' children attending our school. The great lifestyle comes free! Lombok is indeed a cheap and beautiful place to live. Our school is an expanding and successful venture in which we are all happy to play a part. In spite of the unsettled state of the world recently, we live in harmony with our neighbours and are warmly received by the local people. If you are interested in applying for the position, please send your full CV, including e-mail contact details for referees. We will also be pleased to forward any further information about the school. As it takes some time to process visas, we hope that all applications can be forwarded as soon as possible.
