Hi,

For those who are interested in inviting Sumardi to perform at their
schools, this is my feedback:

I highly recommend it. At Kogarah H.S in Sydney, we just had the
performance
on Friday afternoon. It was very entertaining and students loved it. We
also
invited students from one of the local primary schools because we know
they
learn Indonesian at their school. The primary school students seemed to
love
it even more than my high school students. They were very curious about
how
Sumardi could possibly move all the puppets by himself etc.
Sumardi speaks enough English to get by. In the show he told the story
of
Mahabrata using both Indonesian and English, but sometimes due to the
"singing" the words were unintelligible. Don't panic though, there was
another person with Sumardi who would give the story overview.
The only drawback is the cost of the show. Luckily, we managed to have
about
150 students to attend. Also, living in Sydney, these students don't
think
much about spending $4.00 as they probably spend more at the canteen
anyway.
Enjoy the show!

Regards,
Christin Anggrahini
ESL/English and Indonesian Teacher
Kogarah H.S.
