SCHOLARSHIPS TO STUDY IN INDONESIA 2007/2008

The Indonesian Department of National Education is offering scholarships
to foreign students to study Indonesian language, traditional music,
dance or handicrafts at one of 38 institutions throughout Indonesia.

The scholarship will cover academic fees and participants will be
provided with a monthly allowance of 1 million rupiah and a 300,000
rupiah annual clothing allowance. Return air travel to Indonesia and
insurance is the responsibility of participants.

This year there are three streams to the scholarship (darmasiswa)
program: 1.	Darmasiswa RI Regular Program - I year
2.	Darmasiswa RI Plus Program - 1 year
3.	Darmasiswa RI Short Course Program - 6 months

DARMASISWA RI REGULAR PROGRAM
All scholarship recipients will be required to attend an orientation
session and Indonesian language course at the end of August 2007 and
will begin studying at the commencement of the Indonesian academic year
in August/September 2007 and complete their studies in July 2008.

Recipients will be required to assist their university/college with
academic activities for approximately five hours per week and places are
available at the 38 institutions taking part in the program.

DARMASISWA RI PLUS PROGRAM
This program is designed for those who, in addition to study, would like
to gain teaching experience in an Indonesian institution. Recipients
will be required to teach their native language at an Indonesian
institute for a total of ten hours per week.

Orientation, language and teaching methodology course will be held in
the first week of August 2007. The teaching program will run from early
September until mid December and from the beginning of May until the end
of July 2008. The academic program will run from the beginning of
January until the end of April 2008.

Participants in the Darmasiswa Plus program can study at language and
the arts at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta and PPPG/VEDAC Yogyakarta and
language only at Universitas Negeri Malang, Universitas Muhammadiyah
Malang and PPPG/VEDC Malang.

DARMASISWA RI SHORT COURSE PROGRAM
This program will run from the beginning of March 2007 until August
2007. Places are available at Universitas Indonesia (Depok/Jakarta),
Universitas Padjadjaran (Bandung), Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia
(Bandung), Universitas Gadjah Mada (Yogyakarta), Universitas Negeri
(Yogyakarta), Universitas Sebelas Maret (Surakarta), Universitas Negeri
(Surabaya), Universitas Negeri (Malang), Universitas Muhammadiyah
(Malang), Universitas Udayana (Denpasar), Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha
(Singaraja, Bali).

How to Apply
Applicants should complete the application form and fulfil the following
requirements:
1.	Be under 35 years of age;
2.	Have completed secondary education or equivalent;
3.	Attach a copy of most recent academic transcript;
4.	Have basic knowledge in the subjects they will study on the
program;
5.	Physically fit (attach health certificate issued by GP);
6.	Attach 3 passport size photographs (3x4cm) to form and 5 loose
photos
with application;
7.	Attach a photocopy of front page of passport (with minimum 2
years
validity);
8.	Be able to communicate in English.

DEADLINES FOR APPLICATION* (The Consulate General in Sydney will accept
applications from New South Wales, Queensland and South Australia -
applicants in other states should contact the nearest Indonesian
mission). 1.	Darmasiswa RI Regular Program - 15 MARCH 2007
2.	Darmasiswa RI Plus Program - 15 APRIL 2007
3.	Darmasiswa RI Short Course Program - 15 DECEMBER 2006
