SAMBASUNDA IN AUSTRALIA!

We are delighted to invite you to share in the wonderful experience of
SAMABSUNDA - 17-piece fusion gamelan band from Bandung, West Java. This
is THE most internationally acclaimed and dynamic musical group from
Indonesia.  It's a young group of extremely talented musicians and
dancers, and although they've toured Europe annually, this is their
first visit to Australia

The Sambasunda Tour is THE highlight of Indonesian Music in Australia in

The tour has been shaped around their invitation to WOMADelaide (March 9
- 11), WOMAD NZ (March 16 - 18), and at the cultural festival of the
12th FINA World Swimming Championships in Melbourne (March 23 - 25).
These are the premier world music events in Australia and New Zealand. 

The group will be spending 3 days in Sydney - March 12th - 14t h .  We
are seeking opportunities for Sambasunda to perform at educational
institutions to fulfill our goal to engage young Australians and local
musicians with this very high quality cultural experience.  

The 17 members will perform in full costumes, with their beautiful array
of Indonesian as well as African, Latin and western instruments such as
kendang, kecapi., gamelan, bass, djembe, suling and many more.

The performance will include audience participation and hands on
experience as well as Q & A time. 

COST: $5 PER STUDENT (MIN 300)

Combined schools or Smaller group performances  may also be possible -
