I am pleased to inform you that the Indonesian student competition,
Kompetisi siswa, will again run in 2007. Topics for each of the
categories for this year are as follows:

 

Years K-2         Draw and label a picture Binatang aneh (A3 size)

 

Years  3-4        Draw and describe (in simple phrases/sentences)
Binatang aneh (A3 size) 

 

Years 5-6         Create an illustrated booklet with text in Indonesian
on the topic Makanan favorit saya

 

Years 7-8         Create an illustrated booklet/PowerPoint presentation
on the topic Teman-teman saya

 

Years  9-10       Write a photo-journal on the topic Pada akhir minggu

 

Closing date:   Friday 29 June 2007 (last day of Term 2)

 

Details of the competition will also appear in the Term 2 edition of the
Indonesian bulletin, Berita Bahasa. Prizes will be awarded for each of
the five categories and each participating student will receive a letter
of participation from the Indonesian Consulate. Please remember that
there is a limit of five entries for each category from any one school.

 

In the past we have received entries from schools across the state. Some
teachers have incorporated the competition into their teaching and
learning programs - a great motivator if you are covering the topic next
term! 

 

I encourage you to promote the competition amongst your students (and
Indonesian teaching colleagues) and look forward to receiving your
entries at the end of next term.
