Teman-teman yang baik Please see the information below about the Pelangi program run by the Indonesian Consulate as well as cultural workshops and film screenings at the Consulate during the during the July school holidays. I had the opportunity to see a Pelangi performance in action last week on one of their Sydney school visits. The artist they brought to the school to perform was a talented, young Australian-Indonesian dancer who conducted a fabulous dance workshop for the Year 9 and 10 students (it was a girls' school so worked really well). The consulate is happy to work with schools to tailor a performance/workshop that would be suitable for your students, whether it be dance, music, art or language! They can cater to any year level, but smaller groups would probably benefit most. This is a fantastic way to have your students experience an aspect of Indonesian culture, without the hassle and cost of organising an excursion. Please read the message below and contact Siobhan at the Consulate for more details. This program aims to introduce the diversity of Indonesian culture to schools in New South Wales. Designed to encourage and stimulate students of Indonesian at all levels, Pelangi is a program of interactive workshops incorporating aspects of Indonesian music, dance, art and language. The Consulate is planning a series of cultural workshops and Indonesian film screenings during the July school holidays (2 - 13 July). As teachers may be unavailable at this time, students may like to come along with their parents or friends. There is no cost to the school involved.
