Teman-teman yang baik

Please find following information about the 2008 Endeavour Language Teacher programme. Although the Indonesian programme will be held in Darwin, I urge you to consider applying for what will be a fantastic language and cultural professional development opportunity for Indonesian language teachers in primary and secondary schools.

2008 ENDEAVOUR LANGUAGE TEACHER FELLOWSHIPS

The Endeavour Language Teacher Fellowships are an Australian Government initiative for practicing and pre-service (trainee) language teachers in primary and secondary schools in Australia to improve their language proficiency and cultural knowledge through an intensive short-term study programme.

Over 540 language teachers (practicing and trainee) nationally have benefited from their participation in the programme in 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007. Applications for the 2008 Endeavour Language Teacher Fellowships will be advertised soon in the national and metropolitan newspapers and on the Endeavour Programme website at:
http://www.endeavour.dest.gov.au/for_australian_language_teachers/

Keep an eye out for the advertisements in The Australian, Canberra Times, Sydney Morning Herald, Brisbane Courier Mail, NT News, Adelaide Advertiser, Hobart Mercury, The Age, West Australian for further details on Saturday, 9 June 2007.

For 2008, Awards will be offered nationally to teachers of Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Arabic, and Spanish to participate in an in-country study programme in China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Jordan, and Spain respectively. In addition, an innovative immersion study programme for teachers of Bahasa Indonesia will be offered in Darwin, Australia. The Awards will cover airfares, accommodation, tuition fees, some meals and cultural activities and excursions. Practicing teachers can apply for all programmes and are to submit completed applications to State and Territory coordinators. Trainee teacher programmes are available for Arabic, Chinese, Japanese and Bahasa Indonesia, and these applications must be directly submitted to the Asia Education Foundation.
