The US State Department has announced the lifting of its travel warning for Indonesia "after determining that the security climate in the country no longer warrants such a warning". A statement from the US Ambassador to Indonesia says that "Indonesia has not experienced a major terrorist attack since October 2005 and the Government of Indonesia has disrupted, arrested and prosecuted numerous terrorist elements". The Australian Government's advice to reconsider the need to travel to Indonesia including Bali "due to the very high threat of terrorist attack" remains in place. "We continue to receive reports indicating that terrorists are planning attacks against a range of targets including Western interests and places frequented by foreigners," it says. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
