Rekan-rekan seperjuangan, Mohon ditanggapi email di bawah ini, Salam, Ida Harsojo R/Languages Consultant, Indonesian NSW Department of Education and Training 3a Smalls Road RYDE NSW 2112 Ph: 02 9886 7640 Fax: 02 9886 7160 Email: ida.harsojo at det.nsw.edu.au Today's Topics: 1. Griffith Asia Institute - request for assistance (Sue Cooper) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Rekan-rekan yang baik, I'm passing on this request for assistance from Deborah Kessler and Adam Ilman of Griffith Asia Institute. If you are able to help please contact Deborah direct on d.kessler at griffith.edu.au. Salam Sue /Sue Cooper President - WILTA / To whom it may concern, The recent 2020 Summit's security and future prosperity stream articulated the need for an increased understanding of Asia to be a top priority. In the words of Foreign Minister Stephen Smith,"We have to make Australia's understanding of Asian literacy and Asian culture almost second nature to us." We are part of a research team at Griffith Asia Institute, initiated by Michael Wesley as a result of the 2020 Summit, that is looking at ways of improving conditions for Asia literacy in Australia. To this end, could you please outline continuity issues, and other disincentives that need to be worked at, in order to raise demand for Indonesian? Perhaps you might even have some solutions in mind for the language specific (though not restricted to this) issues you raise? Your response can be as brief or as long as you like, but we would appreciate it as soon as possible so it can be considered in our research. Please feel free to pass this email on to your colleagues or other Indonesian language groups you feel would be able to make a worthwhile contribution to our project. We thank you in advance for your feedback, and look forward to hearing from you, Kind regards, Deborah Kessler and Adam Illman
