Hellow everyone,
When 3/4L first looked at Home we had quite an interesting discussion whether the bird on the cover was an owl or an eagle. After reading the story it prompted us to think about what is home for us and how we see birds flying around and rarely stop to think about them or what they are doing.
We then worked in table groups and wrote parts of the story from the falcon's point of view. Here is what we came up with:
It's been days and days since the fire. There's no food and there is nowhere to build our nest. We decide to move to a place where it is warm and where we can lay our eggs and keep them warm and safe.
We are flying to find a new home. Then we found some pebbles on a ledge up high. We are exhausted so we settle on the ledge and rest on the pebbles
I went looking for food then suddenly a giant blue bird came out of nowhere looking like it is going to attack. I sense danger. I don't know what to do. Should I fight or should I run?
It was so fast that I could not see it. I was going to hit the fast blue thing. I quickly went the other way and almost ran into a big red thing. It looked like a big red bird jumping fast so I flew away.
I see this huge mountain and I think there may be baby chicks on it. Then I fly down to some strange animals honking at me. I find a bird and catch it. I fly away back to my nest.
