Hi Rappers,
We are in Stage 2 (Year 3) but we are in different home classes.
Our main building was made in 1917 and this year we celebrated its 90th
birthday. Our school has 400 students and the principal's name is Mr
Jackson. Mr McLean is the teacher-librarian.
The playground environment at Penrith Public School is excellent!
Students can play in many places, such as the grassed area across the
road, the asphalt, the Passive Playground near Rainbow Cottage, the
climbing equipment, or they can go to computer club, or read and play
chess in the library. We have chalkboards in the playground, three
shade shelters, a COLA (covered outdoor learning area) near the
canteen, and a basketball court. The new assembly hall is behind the
COLA. The library is in a long, portable building and has lots of books.
In the playground we sometimes see pigeons, magpies, huntsman spiders,
stick insects, flies and bees. On National Tree Day, we planted a
waratah near the old school bell. Some of our plants do not need much
water, such as the pig-face and native grasses. Our school environment
is important to us.
Most children come to school in a car, but some walk or catch the bus.
One of us travels on his Dad's bicycle, which has a little covered
buggy at the back.
We look forward to talking about the environment in this book rap.
Your new rapper friends,
Year 3 students of Penrith PS
