In the story HOME the falcon the bird moves to a new place for a home and when the bird goes to find some food he sees some very different creatures near his new home. He gets very scared but at the end he does find and goes to find some more.
The book home is written by Narelle Oliver. When the falcon is in the city he sees a blue creature in the park, he gets a fright! the creature was a boy wearing a blue top and shorts. The boy gets a fright as well because he sees the falcon! Then he flies away and looks for more food again.
The falcon was scared and things he saw was frightening he finally got a bird to eat and he shared it with his family and they ate it.

We thought Home was about owls that had left their home and escaped to find what it was like to live in the wild. We liked the way the illustrations changed our minds about the story as we found out they were falcons and that they did not leave home bcasue they wanted too. We thought the falcon would have been rally hungry and would have attacked anything to get some food even the eagle on the hot air balloon.. They are very brave.

Home was awsome and it was good to hear from the people in Queensland who live near them. You should change your school name to falcon junction school. We tried to imagine what the book was about before we read it but we had seen someof the pictuires before we read this. But we still didn't know they were falcons but we thought they were eagles. We imagined them seeing boats on the river forthe first time and thought they would have been cautious but brave and would have dived at them thinking they were food. We hope they leave the city and find a better home in the end.

We liked Home but not the ending. We thought up a good ending and here it is.
The next day the falcons woke up and it was very noisy in the city. They didn't like the nmoise and fleww away through all the tall buildings and out into the country again. They didn't go back to the home that was all burnt but they went a different way and found a new place to build their nest out of stones and lived with all their little falcons until the nest time there was a bush fire.

Home was a good book because it told us how animals in the wild have a tough time sometiomes and need help to live in the city. The illustrations were great and helped us understand the meaning of the book because they showed us how the falcons felt when they wen tinto the city. We thought they would have been surprised a lot as they saw all those things for the first time and thought they were food and they weren't.

We thought Home was a good book. We didn't know what it was about because we hadn't read it and though it was about owls that lived in the zoo. We quickly changed our minds when we read it and looked at the pictures. Our teacher is from South Africa and she has seen many birds like this in the wild and she said the would not lime living in the city for very long. We thought they should leave the city and live in the bush again as soon as they could do it.
