Welcome to the PDHPE rap

Athens Olympic Games

Rap point 3

Term 3, Week 7: week beginning 30 August 2004

What are the attributes (characteristics and qualities) other than their sporting ability that athletes need to succeed in their chosen sport?

Task for Rap point 3

As a class, develop a mind map to record your ideas about the characteristics and qualities of an elite sportsperson. You may wish to use Kidspiration software.

characteristics and qualities

As a class, discuss the importance of fair play and being a good sport. Nominate an athlete or team that you watched during the games who displayed these qualities.

Develop a class set of guidelines or code of conduct to help remind you of these important attributes when participating in games and sports.

Send a message to all rappers sharing an incident from the Athens Olympic Games or a recent sporting event that your class believes displayed fair play or being a good sport.

Share with us some of the rules you made up to encourage people in your class to play by the rules.
