Welcome to the PDHPE rap
Athens Olympic Games

The Athens Olympic Games rap will run from Week 3 of Term 3, 2004 and is suitable for Stage 2 (Years 3 and 4) students.

PDHPE outcomes

This rap will provide opportunities for students to work towards the following PDHPE K-6 Syllabus outcomes.

Knowledge and understanding

Active Lifestyle (ALS2.6)

Discusses the relationship between regular physical activity and health.

Games and Sports (GSS2.8)

Participates and uses equipment in a variety of games and modified sports.

Skills

Communicating (COS2.1)

Uses a variety of ways to communicate with and within groups.

Values and attitudes

V6 Commits to realising their full potential

Information and communication technologies

This rap will assist Stage 2 students in the development of their ability to:

•  use ICT to locate, access, evaluate, manipulate, create, store and retrieve information

•  express ideas and communicate with others, using ICT.



Joining the rap

From 2 August 2004 you may participate in the Athens Olympic Games rap by entering your email address in the boxes below and clicking the Submit buttons. Please ensure you have registered the email addresses before doing so.

Teacher email will not be archived to protect privacy. The teacher rap runs concurrently with the book rap to provide additional support for teachers, and the opportunity to discuss issues which may arise during the rap.

You will receive confirmation emails for your class group and the teacher support listserv. Please save these messages as they contain important email addresses, and simply follow the instructions these contain when posting messages.

Find examples of maps and tally sheets. Students may use these to identify and locate schools participating in the book rap. Use these or create your own based on ideas from these examples.
