Student Task 3
Term 4, Week 4: week beginning 9 November, 2009

Rap point 2

This week we are looking at patterns in the written text of both books.

2a) Create a new sequence for Bear and Chook.

In Bear and Chook, Bear dreams of what he would like to be when he grows up:
I wouldn’t mind being a ________________ though.

Following author Lisa Shanahan’s writing pattern, create a new sequence for this book. Think about:

What time of day? What do they do? What happens to poor Chook this time?

2b) Create a new sequence for Bear and Chook by the sea.
In Bear and Chook by the sea, the forward journey is difficult for Chook:

Flomp, flomp, scratch, scratch, flomp, flomp, scratch,

__________________________________________________________________________

they ________________ . ‘It’s _________________ here,’ ______________ Chook.

‘Yes,’ said Bear.

_______________________________________________________________

______________________________________________________________!

‘What’s that?’ ______________ Chook.

‘A ____________________,’ said Bear.

‘I want to go home,’ _______________ Chook.

Following author Lisa Shanahan’s writing pattern, create a new sequence for this book.
