1. Write a sports article for your local newspaper (school newspaper).

Task 1 for Rap point 3

Your task is to write a sports news article for a newspaper. The focus of the article may be:

• an event at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games
• your school sports carnival
• your school or class mini Olympics
• an athlete competing at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.

You may wish to use the ‘Kiwis versus Wallabies in match of the year’ article as a model. Your information from Rap sheet 6 may also help you with this task.

Watching the sports news on television and reading Olympic Games updates on the internet will also help you with this task.

Share your news article with your school community and the other rappers.

Optional task

If you have time, why not make a movie about a sports event and share it with the other rappers?
