My name is Connie Ah See. I am a Wiradjuri woman from Wellington, NSW. My mum's name is Brenda, and I am the eldest of five. I have a daughter, Nicole, and a granddaughter, Aniesha.

In 1997 I came to Sydney to work at the Board of Studies on the Aboriginal language program. I am currently a Curriculum Adviser, Aboriginal Education, as part of the Aboriginal Studies team at Curriculum Support Directorate, Ryde State Office in Sydney, NSW Department of Education and Training.

Ryde is a long way from Wellington. Sometimes I get lonely for my people and my country. I miss walking along the banks of the old Macquarie River out near the Common, where my people used to live.

I hope this book rap will be as exciting and as deadly as last year's My girragundji rap. I am looking forward to hearing from you all soon. So, rappers, keep those fingers a tappin'.
