During this week, rappers send a short introductory message. Include in your message:

  • name of your school and class group [do not include family names of students if listing those in a small student group]
  • an Acknowledgment of Country and the name of the Aboriginal Land on which your school stands
  • brief information about your school: where it is, anything special
  • the name(s) of local Aboriginal Elder(s) if known
  • brief information about the cultural backgrounds of students in your group: a celebration o f cultures!
  •  include the People and Lands of any Aboriginal students.

The Planning & programming activities will help teachers.

During this week, rappers have time to read and enjoy the texts in My People, My place, which is the focus of Task 2 next week.

Post your class introduction to the rap blog once your teacher has approved the final message. Your class might wish to respond to the introductions from other rappers via the rap blog.

Posting responses:

  • prepare the response with the class
  • student/s (Rap Rep) may word process the response, edit and save
  • teacher facilitates the student/s use of the word processor and blogging procedures to post the response to Introductory rap point once the teacher has approved the final text.
