Mr Peter Haigh commenced as the Regional Director, North Coast on 14 July 2008. Mr Haigh is one of the ten Regional Directors in the state
Peter returns to the North Coast after spending the previous 18 months as the Senior Manager, Strategic Coordination, in the Department's state office - the Office of Schools.
In this role Peter led the intersection of policy and operations to provide a cohesive approach to developing and implementing initiatives for schools, primarily through building authentic collaboration between state office, regions and peak representative groups in shaping initiatives to better meet the needs of schools.
Peter was previously a District Superintendent in the North Coast Region for Taree School Education Area, as they were formerly known, and then School Education Director, Lower North Coast. Peter has also been a Principal in central west NSW, and was District Superintendent in Northern Sydney.
With extensive senior leadership experience in urban and regional settings across what are now five different NSW regions, Peter has an excellent understanding of the range of socio-economic and educational factors that influence the design and delivery of programs to region and schools. Most importantly, he values the productive, professional relationships he has developed across the Department, and with Principals associations and the NSW Federation of P&Cs.
His priority is to ensure that the region delivers high quality education through great teaching, great leadership and great partnerships by providing accessible support for all schools, and so, achieve the very best outcomes for North Coast students.
