Ms Carol Carrigan has been appointed North Coast Regional Director under the Department's new administration structure.
Ms Carrigan is one of 10 Regional Directors who represent the start of significant cultural and service delivery changes in the Department.
This new structure has given the Department a renewed focus on supporting frontline teachers and school staff and enables the provision of better responses to local issues.
The creation of school educational areas within the regional structure also ensures that support services, such as curriculum consultants, welfare and training experts, remain close to local schools.
The North Coast region office is in Coffs Harbour, with school educational areas in Clarence/Coffs Harbour, Lismore, Port Macquarie, Taree and Tweed Heads/Ballina; 281 public schools are located in the region.
