Deonne Smith has been Principal in a number of schools in South Australia including one of six technology focus schools.

Other roles have included: District Director of schools and Children's services in South Australia; District Superintendent in two different districts in South Australia; Superintendent for Standards and Accountability; and also worked as a Leadership Consultant.

Deonne has a strong curriculum background encompassing management of statewide literacy and numeracy initiatives; speaking at State, National and International conferences about curriculum, teacher development and school change issues; consultancy work and curriculum writing.

She has taught pre-school, primary school and secondary school students and lectured at the University of South Australia.
