Chullora Public School caters for 365 culturally diverse students from Kindergarten to Year 6. As a priority school we are provided with additional funding aimed at improving literacy and numeracy and participation outcomes. In 2011 we will join the National Partnership for Low Socio-economic Schools. The school's student population is 91% from language backgrounds other than English, with predominantly Arabic, Vietnamese, Chinese, Samoan, and Maori backgrounds. The school is dedicated to equity and excellence in education and is committed to developing the academic, creative, performing, sporting and social potential of students. Chullora Public School has a comprehensive range of learning programs. Literacy programs are a prominent feature of the schools program. The school works closely with a respected literacy consultant to develop quality teaching programs. In 2011 all children will participate in an educational speech pathology program to assist them in developing their talking and listening skills. The school also participates in an occupational therapy program for children in K-2 to help them develop their fine motor skills. All students K-4 participate in a maths program titled Count Me in Too and students in Years 5 and 6 participate in Counting On. Chullora Public school runs enrichment programs in Maths, English, sports and the arts. The school participates in the Festival of Instrumental Music where students perform at the Sydney Opera House, and also in Operation Art whereby students' art is showcased at the Art Gallery of NSW and at Sydney Olympic Park. Our students have diverse learning needs. As well as providing enrichment activities the school has a comprehensive learning support program for students in need of additional assistance. The comprehensive student welfare program is built around a code of conduct that reinforces the values of public education in NSW. The school encourages leadership for all students and has an active prefect body and Student Representative Council. Our school has a dedicated and professional staff who participate in regular professional learning with a focus on achieving outcomes for students and student wellbeing. The school employs a community liaison officer to assist in organising programs that engage the community in the life of the school. It is our belief that strong partnerships assist students in achieving learning outcomes. Chullora Public School's parent body actively volunteer to support student learning through reading and sporting programs and also in the library. We have an active P&C involved in the evaluation of school programs, employment of staff and fundraising. Chullora Public School's motto is Strive to Achieve. Students with disability and additional learning and support needs

The New South Wales Department of Education and Communities support students with disability and additional learning and support needs in public schools in a range of ways. This may include specialist support classes for students in regular and special schools; the Integration, Funding Support program which provides targeted funding for eligible students; and learning and support resourcing. Every regular public school in NSW receives a specialist teacher allocation and flexible funding based on the size of the school and the learning needs of their students.
