North Nowra Public School coexists with a wildlife corridor along its northern boundaries. This corridor flows into the rehabilitated Mahogany Creek Project developed by the Shoalhaven City Council. Existing trees have been used to create sheltered courtyard areas which have been extended with picnic tables for students to enjoy the bush surroundings. The school is in its third year of operation and shares facilities with Havenlee SSP. It is fully networked and designed with energy saving initiatives such as utilisation of natural light and ventilation, rainwater collected and recirculated for landscape irrigation. The school has established a culture which focuses on learning that is student, staff and parent learning. Through these partnerships students are guided towards developing lifelong learning skills in an environment which recognises and values all learning, is stimulating, meaningful and supportive. It is a place which shares and cares.
