Ardlethan is a small rural centre in the northern Riverina. Ardlethan Central acts as the hub school for the Riverina Access Program consisting of Ardlethan Barellan, Ariah Park and Hillston Central Schools. Senior secondary students study for their HSC via video conference links across the four schools. This program is unique in schools in Australia. Our school aims to be the leading community school in NSW, achieving this status by applying process-based learning, especially utilising and working in technology. We work to achieve this by: developing our students as resourceful, independent achievers with high self esteem; ensuring staff are highly motivateed, innnovative and supportive of their students and each other; and making the school a positive learning envronment for all the community, with a happy, caring atmosphere. The school also focuses on developing a family atmosphere with a seamless progression from Kindergarten to Year 12. There is a clear emphasis on traditional Australian values in the school's work and activities.

Students with disability and additional learning and support needs

The New South Wales Department of Education and Communities support students with disability and additional learning and support needs in public schools in a range of ways. This may include specialist support classes for students in regular and special schools; the Integration, Funding Support program which provides targeted funding for eligible students; and learning and support resourcing. Every regular public school in NSW receives a specialist teacher allocation and flexible funding based on the size of the school and the learning needs of their students.

You can discuss your child's learning needs and planning for their personalised learning and support with the principal of your child's school. For more information about the full range of support services in NSW public schools go to Disability, Learning & Support.
