Canterbury Public School was first established in 1878 and features heritage buildings set in spacious grounds which provide students with a pleasant play environment. The school has extensive classroom space, including a modern library, net worked computers in classrooms and a computer lab. Our school serves a culturally diverse community consisting of 255 students. A significant number of students attend the school from out of area . The school prides itself on being small enough to know and value every student and family, yet large enough to provide a full range of quality learning programs and resources. The adjacent local high schools enable strong links and continuity of schooling. Our school strives for excellence and equity and aims to empower students with the skills necessary to achieve their full potential. Teaching and learning programs focus on developing competencies in critical thinking, decision making, problem solving, cooperation, citizenship and social justice. Emphasis is placed on student welfare, individualised learning programs and strong parent partnerships.
