South Grafton Primary School was established in 1867 and now has an enrolment of 606 students located on two campuses. The school is the centre for the Clarence Valley's Opportunity C (OC) class and the Early Intervention class - students are drawn from a large urban and rural area. School facilities include a technology centre equipped with internet access under the Country On-Line Project, an air conditioned library, multi-purpose centres and specially equipped train carriages catering for literacy and numeracy. A magnificent concert band with over one hundred members is recognised throughout the community. School grounds are significantly enhanced with developed and developing rain forests which provide study areas for environmental activities and play areas are available for tennis, basketball and netball. The school provides educational opportunities for the benefit of all students in its care.
