We are a bridge children cross to learn to speak competently, think clearly and make informed choices. Within our school environment children develop confidence and learn skills to handle novel and complex situations. Bridge Road School is a special school which provides a short intensive intervention for children with severe emotional disturbances. THE SCHOOL IS A CROSS DISTRICT FACILITY with children accessing taxi transport for the duration of their enrolment. The Bridge Road program meets the needs of those emotionally disturbed children from the higher support needs end of the continuum of services. Children whose needs are addressed by this program are aged between 6 - 12 years and are mostly intellectually able to cope with the demands of a cognitive based, short, intensive program of 3 -5 terms. As well as behavioural, educational and integration programs, this group of children require therapeutic intervention after assessment by a clinical psychologist or psychiatrist, to assist with their emotional disabilities.
