Gadara School is a support school for students with an intellectual disability. Excellent staff/student ratio allows for implementation of programs specific to individual needs. In the junior years of schooling emphasis is on academic learning, language development and independence in managing self care needs. In the senior years the focus turns to functional mathematics and literacy, independent living skills, work experience and transition education. Gadara School endeavours to ensure students leaving school have been prepared socially, academically, vocationally and emotionally to have a successful and fulfilled life after school. Our school prides itself on it's commitment to all phases of a student's development. The school's signing choir is held in high regard by our local community and is often called upon to perform at local events. Gadara School's Transition Education program and Drug Education program are held as examples of excellence to other schools in special education.
