Hopetown School was assumed by the NSW Department of Education and Training during October, 1999. It is situated in a park-like setting with excellent amenities including a gymnasium and an indoor, heated swimming pool. More significantly, the year 2000 has seen a reclassification of the student enrolment criteria and an extension of the provision of services to Higher School Certificate level. Hopetown has always been considered a therapeutic milieu with a multi-disciplinary approach to special education and individual needs. The school encourages parent and community involvement in all aspects of curriculum and behavioural programming. The year 2001 promises exciting access to the many resources of the public education system and a period of positive change for the entire school community.
